Period-Accurate Materials, Properly Sourced
Renovation and restoration projects live or die on the authenticity of their materials. A Victorian terrace with the wrong door profile, a period farmhouse with modern skirting boards, a Georgian townhouse with reclaimed flooring that doesn’t match the era — these are the details that undermine an otherwise excellent project and that clients and planning authorities notice immediately.
EuroSalve has been sourcing period-accurate architectural salvage across Ireland, the UK and Europe since 1998. Robin has spent 25 years developing the sourcing networks and the stock depth that restoration specialists need — original materials from the right periods, in the right conditions, available to inspect before purchase. Conor works directly with renovation contractors and property owners on an ongoing basis and understands the particular demands that restoration projects place on a salvage supplier.
Matching Reclaimed Flooring to Existing Boards
One of the most common and most exacting restoration briefs is matching reclaimed flooring to what’s already in a building — the same species, similar width, comparable age and wear. It’s a challenge that rules out most flooring suppliers immediately and that requires a salvage yard with genuine depth and variety of stock.
We stock solid timber flooring, engineered semi-solid flooring, reclaimed hardwood and reclaimed timber cladding across a range of species, widths and conditions. For matching briefs, send us photos and dimensions of the existing boards and we’ll assess what we have and what we can source. We’ve fulfilled matching briefs for restoration projects across Ireland and have the sourcing networks to find materials that standard suppliers can’t locate.
Fireplaces, Doors & Period Features
Original cast iron fireplaces, Georgian and Victorian doors, period windows, reclaimed stone features, cast iron radiators — the architectural elements that define a period property and that restoration projects need to either preserve, repair or authentically replace. When originals are beyond repair or simply missing, finding accurate replacements from salvage is almost always the best option — both aesthetically and in terms of satisfying conservation requirements.
We stock cast iron fireplaces across multiple periods and styles, original doors and windows, cast iron radiators, chimney pots, cast iron guttering and a range of stone architectural pieces. Most items are unique — if you need something specific for a restoration, send us the details and we’ll search current stock and advise on sourcing.
Built for Exacting Restoration Briefs
Restoration projects ask more of a salvage supplier than almost any other type of work — the materials have to be right, not just approximately right. We take that seriously. Robin’s 25 years of sourcing experience and Conor’s direct engagement with the trade means we understand what period accuracy actually requires and we won’t oversell what we have.
If you’re working on a protected structure, a period property renovation or a conservation-led project with specific material requirements, get in touch with the full brief. We’ll give you an honest assessment of current stock, realistic sourcing options and a clear timeline — so you can plan around us with confidence rather than uncertainty.
